Ministry of Graphic Design

Office of the Archive (The absolute beginners)

The Office of the Archive (OofA) is an onsite archive office that collects artifacts and impressions of the FIKRA Biennial, all of which will be indexed and exhibited. “The Absolute Beginners” (TAB) archivist team will work in a mobile office to documents and archive the biennial in a public and performative manner. OofA is not an exhibition. It helps people (of the present and the future) to better understand the Fikra Graphic Design Biennial 01: Ministry of Graphic Design.

TAB are Tetsuya Goto (Japan) and Saki Ho (Hong Kong). They aim to connect visitors with the biennial, and use familiar tools, such as smartphones or even pen and paper, to bring vistors to actively participate in the process of archiving and indexing.

A research of “Impressions”
& “perceptions”
of graphic design.
